Terrorists Attack Army Post In J&K’s Doda, 3rd Terror Incident In 3 Days

Srinagar:

An encounter is on between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda after they attacked an army base late last night, said police. Two soldiers were injured in the shootout.

This is the third such incident in three days in Jammu after terrorists opened fire in Kathua, injuring a civilian, and at a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi, killing nine passengers.

A terrorist was also eliminated in an encounter in Kathua last night, said Anand Jain, Additional Director General of Police, Jammu zone, who is supervising the anti-terrorist operation.

On the Doda incident, he said terrorists opened fire at a joint party of police and Rashtriya Rifles at an army base in Chattargala area late last night. An encounter was underway between the security forces and the terrorists in the higher reaches, he said.

The security forces are now hunting for the last remaining terrorist using drones in the Hiranagar area of Kathua.

Mr Jain called the Kathua attack a “fresh infiltration” and pointed at Pakistan without naming it.

“It is our hostile neighbour who always tries to damage the peaceful environment in our country. This (Hiranagar Terror attack) appears to be a fresh infiltration. The one terrorist has been killed, the search for the other is also underway,” he said.
