Appointment of Observers for Lok Sabha Elections 2024 in Kanker, Mahasamund and Rajnandgaon Constituencies

The Election Commission of India has appointed general observers, police observers, and expenditure observers for the Kanker, Mahasamund, and Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha constituencies. For Kanker, Dr. M.T. Reji from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) 2005 batch has been appointed as the general observer, Mr. M. Rakesh Chandra Kalasagar from the Indian Police Service (IPS) 2011 batch as the police observer, and Mr. Sandeep Mondal from the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) Income Tax 2014 batch as the expenditure observer. For Rajnandgaon, Mr. Shashi Ranjan from the IAS has been appointed as the general observer, Mr. Yogendra Kumar from the IPS 2014 batch as the police observer, and Mr. Praveen Ranjan from the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) as the expenditure observer. For Mahasamund, Dr. Samit Sharma from the IAS 2004 batch has been appointed as the general observer, and Mr. M. Rakesh Chandra Kalasagar from the IPS 2011 batch as the police observer. Additionally, Mr. Manish Kumar Dubey from the IRS 2014 batch has been appointed as the expenditure observer for Mahasamund district, and Mr. Ram Prabhu Udayar from the IRS 2016 batch for Dhamtari and Gariyaband districts. Assistant Returning Officer Thakur held a meeting regarding sector officers, BLOs, and supervisors for the Raipur West assembly constituency. In the meeting, information was provided regarding voting assistance for differently-abled and elderly voters, voter helpline, election duty certificates, postal ballots, and instructions for re-inspecting polling stations to ensure availability. Additional officials including Raipur Tehsildar Rakesh Devangan were present at the meeting.
