Triennial General Meeting of Association of Top Achievers Scouts (ATAS) -World and 8th National Gathering of ATAS India were organized on 14th and 15th December in Raipur, Chhattisgarh under the guidance of ATAS India National Convener MAK Mecci. ATAS is a global organization of Scouts-Guides, Rover-Rangers who have received the President’s Award in their respective countries.
Established in the year 2004. About 20000 members from 54 countries are associated with it. The number of members in India is about 2200. ATAS World President Simon Hang Bock Rhee was the chief guest of this program, and the event was presided over by ATAS India President Kalpesh S. Jhaveri, retired Chief Justice of Orissa High Court.
Triennial General Meeting of ATAS World In the triennial meeting of ATAS World held on 14th December, ATAS World President Simon Hang Bock Rhee and Sonny Kim President Korea Tiger Scout Association, who came specially from South Korea, Captain Gayan Prasad Kumara, President Sri Lanka Queens and President Scout Guild from Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka Queens and President Scout Guild member Najath Nabaris, along with about 70 Rashtrapati Award winning Scouts-Guides, Rover Rangers from different states of India including Chhattisgarh participated physically and representatives from more than 20 countries members participated through zoom meeting. This event has been organized especially to highlight the 20 years of establishment of ATAS World. The meeting was conducted by ATAS India National Convener MAK Mecci.
New leadership of ATAS World During this meeting, the election of new leadership for ATAS World was announced by the Chairman of the three-member election committee, Sri Lanka’s National Scout Chief Commissioner Janaprith Fernando. The formalities of handing over the responsibility by handing over ATAS flag to the new Chairman of ATAS, Paramasivam Palani Malaysia, Vice Chairman Bray Barns USA, Treasurer Sonny Kim South Korea and Secretary MAK Mecci from India were completed by Simon Hang Bock Rhee of South Korea, who has been the Chairman of ATAS since its inception. Simon Hang Bock Rhee has been conferred as President Emeritus.
Cultural Evening After this event, a cultural evening was also organized under the hospitality of Satya Narayan Sharma, National Vice President Bharat Scouts and Guides and Patron Indian Scout Guide Fellowship Chhattisgarh State. In which students of KPS School Aarang, members of ATAS India and Chhattisgarhi folk artists performed.
ATAS India 8th National Gathering ATAS India organized its 8th National Gathering on 15th December. ATAS World President Emeritus Simon Hang Bock Rhee and Sonny Kim President Korea Tiger Scout Association South Korea, Captain Gayan Prasad Kumara, President Sri Lanka Queens and President Scout Guild from Sri Lanka were guests in the 8th ATAS National Gathering Chaired by ATAS India President Kalpesh S. Jhaveri, retired Chief Justice of Orissa High Court. Dr Somnath Yadav, State Chief Commissioner, Bharat Scouts and Guides, Chhattisgarh and vice President of ATAS India also participated in it. In the National Gathering of ATAS India, the 20th year of ATAS World, 65th year of Indian Scout Guide Fellowship and 75th year of Bharat Scouts and Guides were celebrated by cutting a cake. President Emeritus of ATAS World, Simon Hang Bock Ree was honoured by presenting the traditional Gaur Sing head gear. ATAS members from all over the world are honoured by him by presenting ATAS Scarf and ATAS Patch. In this series, 34 ATAS members from every corner of Chhattisgarh and India were honored by presenting ATAS Scarf and Patch.
M.A. Khalid Top Achiever 2024 The M. A. Khalid Top Achiever Award has been instituted by ATAS India in the name of M.A. Khalid, Additional National Commissioner Bharat Scouts and Guides, who played an important role in establishment of ATAS India. This award for the year 2024 was given to Kaushik Chatterjee, former National Coordinator of ATAS India and State Training Commissioner of West Bengal Bharat Scouts and Guides. A medallion and citation were presented in this event for his contribution to the activities of ATAS India and his efforts in strengthening the organization.
Hemant Sharma, Bindu Dubey, Ashutosh Sahu, Dilip Patel and Bhishabh Dev Sahu of Chhattisgarh ATAS were also honoured separately by ATAS India for playing an important role in the event.

Treasurer Muralidhar Sharma and State Secretary Kailash Soni from Bharat Scouts and Guides State Headquarters, President of Indian Scout Guide Fellowship Chhattisgarh Suresh Shukla, Secretary Gayatri Singh, L D Dubey, Dr. Babli Dutta and Ajay Tiwari were present in the event.
