Three Accused Arrested In The Brutal Murder Case Of Journalist Mukesh Chandrakar In Bijapur, CG

Bijapur, 04 January 2025:  Police have arrested three accused in the murder case of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. Mukesh Chandrakar went missing from his house on January 1, 2025, which was reported by his elder brother Yukesh Chandrakar at Kotwali police station Bijapur on January 2.

The police took immediate action and started investigating the case and during the investigation, the body of Mukesh Chandrakar was recovered from a septic tank in the enclosure of contractor Suresh Chandrakar. There were marks of attack with an iron rod on the body, which made it clear that he was brutally killed.

Investigation revealed that there was a family dispute between Mukesh Chandrakar and accused Ritesh Chandrakar. On the night of January 1, there was an argument between Mukesh and Ritesh, after which Ritesh along with his associate Mahendra Ramteke attacked Mukesh and killed him. The body was dumped in a septic tank to dispose of it.

The accused conspired to destroy evidence after the incident and plastered the areas around the body. The police have arrested Ritesh, Mahendra and Dinesh Chandrakar, while four police teams have been sent to arrest contractor Suresh Chandrakar.

Also, the police started investigating the bank accounts of contractor Suresh Chandrakar and gathered information related to illegal construction works by him. Inspector General of Police Bastar Range has made it clear that all the accused involved in this murder case will be given strict punishment and a charge sheet will be presented in the court soon.
