In the 160 results of district panchayats declared so far, BJP won 108 seats, 17 BJP supported independents also won
Raipur: Saurabh Singh, the state convener of the Bharatiya Janata Party three-tier Panchayat Election Committee, said that the results coming out after the first phase of voting in the Panchayat elections are in line with the party’s belief and said that in the Panchayat elections also the party is getting full blessings of the people in the entire state. Singh said that the programs being run for the development and public welfare of the rural areas of Chhattisgarh under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai have increased the trust of the people towards BJP and these results are the vocal expression of that trust.
Singh, the state convener of the BJP Panchayat Election Committee, said that in the figures available so far after the first round of three-tier Panchayat elections, 108 candidates of Bharatiya Janata Party and 17 BJP supported independents (total 125) have won the elections on 160 district panchayat seats. Counting of votes is still going on in other areas and we will win with a huge majority in them too. Out of the 33 district panchayats in the state, not even a single Congress candidate has won the election in 14 district panchayats. BJP has registered a spectacular victory in all the 9 areas of Narayanpur district panchayat of Bastar. Similarly, all 6 BJP members of Kawardha, all 5 of Khairagarh, all 4 of Kondagaon, all 4 of Mungeli, all 4 of Sarangarh-Bilaigarh have been elected. BJP candidates have won spectacularly in 5 out of 6 areas of Balodabazar, 4 out of 6 of Janjgir-Champa, 4 out of 6 of Balrampur, 3 out of 4 of Sakti, 5 out of 6 of Raigarh and 3 out of 5 areas of Balod. Along with all these districts, Congress is at zero in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi and Korba and not even a single candidate of its has won. Apart from these, Congress has been able to win only a few seats in the remaining districts.
Singh, the state convenor of the BJP Panchayat Election Committee, said that the BJP and our workers have won a large number of Janpad Panchayats, Gram Panchayats and Sarpanch elections. After the recent results of the urban bodies, there is a wave of the BJP in the rural areas as well and the Congress is heading towards its fifth consecutive big defeat. Singh said that Modi’s guarantee was fulfilled during the tenure of the Congress government, and its positive results were seen in the urban body elections. Similarly, the government fulfilled Modi’s guarantee in the rural areas, and its direct positive results are being seen in favour of the BJP.
