Raipur. Chhattisgarh’s tableau “Bastar’s Primitive People’s Parliament: Muria Darbar”, included in the Republic Day parade on the duty path in New Delhi, enthralled the audience. French President Emmanuel Macron was the chief guest.

The state government had given the responsibility to the Public Relations Department for selecting and presenting the topic of this tableau of the state. After extensive research and investigation on the subjects, the tableau was prepared under the guidance of senior officials and experts. The tableau of Chhattisgarh was based on the theme of the Government of India, ‘India is the Mother of Democracy’. This tableau reflects the democratic consciousness and traditions present in the tribal society since ancient times, which is still alive and prevalent in the Bastar division of the state even after 75 years of independence. In this tableau, the “Muria Darbar” of Jagdalpur and the “Limau-Raja” located at Bade Dongar in Kondagaon district were depicted under the central theme of “Primitive People’s Parliament”. During the tableau display, folk artists of Chhattisgarh also presented Parab dance on the duty path.
