Raw liquor distillery caught in raid

Mahasamund. Continuous action is being taken by the Excise Department Mahasamund to prevent possible loss of life due to illegal consumption of raw liquor and against illegal liquor sale. In continuation of this, as per the instructions of Collector Prabhat Malik and under the guidance of District Excise Officer Mahasamund Mohit Kumar Jaiswal, on 27th and 28th under Excise Circle Saraipali, the accused Raju Kalet, age 33 years, resident of Singhora, was in possession of 10 liters of hand furnace raw Mahua liquor. 15 liters of hand kiln raw Mahuva liquor was seized from the possession of accused Rajin Barla, age – 22 years, resident – Chhuipali, Police Station – Singhoda and 10 liters of hand kiln raw liquor was seized from the possession of another accused Harishchandra Yadav, age – 28 years, of Chhuipali. Mahua liquor has been seized and a crime has been registered against the three accused under section 34(2), 59(a) of the Chhattisgarh Excise Act and they have been sent to jail on remand.

In another action, 80 liters of hand kiln Mahua liquor and about 1100 kilograms of fermented Mahua Lahan capable of making liquor in 22 plastic drums were seized from the forest in village Dongarraksa police station Singhoda and Section 34 (1) (a) of Chhattisgarh Excise Act was registered against unknown accused. A case was registered under Section 34(2) and taken under investigation. The entire proceedings were carried out by circle in-charge officer of Saraipali Uttambudh Bhardwaj in which excise staff were present.
