Raipur. On the second day at the Rajyotsav venue Nava Raipur, the crowd of people in Garh Kaleva to taste traditional Chhattisgarhi dishes in the food court is worth seeing.
Chhattisgarh is not only known for its cultural heritage, but the taste of Chhattisgarhi dishes like Bada, Fara, Cheela and Bhajiya is in the mouth of every Chhattisgarhi. Bada dishes made from urad dal are especially popular in weddings and ancestors.
Fara made from rice flour is made in two ways, the first is sweet, in which jaggery solution is used in Fara and the second is cooked in steam, which is made more delicious by adding seasoning.
Two forms of Cheela are in vogue, sweet and salty. Adding salt to rice flour makes Nunha Cheela and adding jaggery to the solution makes Gurha Cheela. The taste of these two cheelas is enhanced by green chilli and patal chutney. It is customary to make bhajiyas with both urad ki pithi and gram flour. Chhattisgarhi dishes are balanced, healthy and tasty. Also, the aroma of tradition makes them unique.
Many women like Mrs. Kalyani Yadav, Mrs. Rajmati Sahu, Mrs. Rani Verma from Bemetara, Mrs. Geeta Verma who came from near Abhanpur said that they all have come to taste Chhattisgarhi dishes at Garh Kaleva in Rajyotsav Sthal and they are enjoying it a lot here.
