Four new portals launched for women’s welfare, 13th installment of Mahtari Vandan Yojana released

Raipur, 08 March 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today attended the “Vrihad Mahtari Vandan Sammelan” organized at Science College Ground in the capital Raipur and greeted all the women of the state on the occasion of International Women’s Day. He said that women empowerment is not just an idea, but the top priority of our government. The state government is working with full commitment to make women in Chhattisgarh socially, economically and politically self-reliant. Chief Minister Sai said that no society and nation can progress without the sacrifice and dedication of women. He said that the tradition of worshiping Matri Shakti in India is centuries old and the Chhattisgarh government is further strengthening this tradition. Chief Minister Sai said that no society can be complete until the women of the society are empowered. He said that the Chhattisgarh government is constantly striving to make women self-reliant, safe and respected and in the coming times, many new steps will be taken towards women empowerment. This journey of women empowerment will continue, because women power is the power of the nation.
Important step towards economic empowerment of women Chief Minister Sai said that the Chhattisgarh government has been transferring an amount of Rs 1,000 per month directly to the bank accounts of women for the last 13 months under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana for women’s welfare. So far, an amount of more than Rs 8,488 crore has been transferred to the accounts of more than 70 lakh women. Chief Minister Sai said that a new initiative has also been taken for Anganwadi workers and assistants. The Chief Minister announced that from now on their honorarium will be transferred directly to their bank accounts, which will ensure transparency and timeliness in payment. Launch of four new portals and digital initiatives Chief Minister Sai on this occasion launched an important digital facility for harassed and distressed women under which they will be able to register complaints online and through mobile app. Apart from this, Chief Minister Sai also launched the portal, infra portal and establishment portal of Child Marriage Free Chhattisgarh Abhiyan. Chief Minister Sai said that the Chhattisgarh government is committed to empowering women more through technology. New opportunities for women self-help groups Regarding the stalls set up in Mahila Madai, Chief Minister Sai informed that till now purchases and sales worth more than Rs 15 to 20 lakh have been made, which reflects women entrepreneurship. He announced that “Unity Mall” will be built in Nava Raipur at a cost of Rs 200 crore, where there will be ample opportunities for selling the products of women self-help groups.
Sakhi One Stop Centre’s SOP – Chhattisgarh becomes the first state Chief Minister Sai released the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of Sakhi One Stop Centre and informed that Chhattisgarh has become the first state in the country to do so. He said that Sakhi One Stop Centre provides immediate help, counselling and legal aid to women in distress. Now a standard procedure has been created for the systematic operation of this centre, which will further increase its effectiveness. Special provision in budget for women empowerment In the programme, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade said that the Chhattisgarh government considers women empowerment not just a slogan but an integral part of its policy and resolve. She said that many schemes related to women and social welfare have been strengthened in this year’s state budget. From making women self-reliant to their health, security and education, the government is working with full force in every field.
Reservation and new opportunities for women Chief Minister Sai said that lakhs of women are getting benefits from Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Women already have 50% reservation in Panchayati Raj institutions. Now women will soon get the benefit of 33% reservation in Vidhan Sabha and Lok Sabha as well. He said that today women are playing a leading role in important fields ranging from politics to flying fighter planes and operating railways. Women’s fair organized on the theme “Ajay Nari – Aaradhna Nari” Four-day Mahila Madai was organized on the theme “Ajay Nari – Aaradhna Nari”. In this, 87 women self-help groups from 33 districts of the state exhibited and sold their handmade products. Along with this, the schemes being run by the Women and Child Development Department were also presented to the general public through various mediums. Raipur West MLA Rajesh Munat, MLA Smt. Gomti Sai, MLA Smt. Raimuni Bhagat, MLA Guru Khuswant Saheb, Child Protection Commission member Smt. Pushpa Patle, Divisional Commissioner Mahadev Kavre, Women and Child Development Department Secretary Smt. Shammi Abidi, Director Janmjey Mahobe, Raipur Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Lal Ummed Singh and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Vishwadeep along with a large number of dignitaries and women were present in the program.
