Major Encounter in Bastar: In Chhattisgarh, there has been another encounter between security forces and Naxalites. Unfortunately, one soldier has lost his life, while four armed Naxalites have been killed by the security personnel. Reports suggest that this number could rise further.
According to a press release, an anti-Naxal search operation was launched on January 3, involving a joint team from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and the Special Task Force (STF) in the Abujhmad area, covering Narayanpur, Dantewada, Jagdalpur, and Kondagaon districts. The encounter between the security forces and Naxalites has been ongoing intermittently since the evening of January 4.
So far, the bodies of four armed Naxalites have been recovered during the search operation. The forces have also seized automatic weapons, including AK-47s and SLRs. Tragically, the soldier from the Dantewada DRG, Head Constable Sannu Karam, has been martyred in this encounter. The search operation and the encounter are still in progress, and more detailed information will be released once the operation is complete.
