More than 25 lakh farmers sold paddy, payment of Rs 29 thousand 599 crore so far
DO and TO issued for lifting of 110 lakh metric tonnes of paddy of total purchase
More than 87 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted
Raipur 24 January 2025: The process of paddy procurement, which started from 14 November in Chhattisgarh, is continuing uninterrupted. Last year’s record has been broken in paddy procurement so far. Last year 144.92 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was purchased. This year, the figure of paddy procurement till date has crossed 145 lakh metric tonnes. Food department officials said that 25 lakh 13 thousand farmers of the state have sold paddy. So far, Rs 29 thousand 599 crore has been paid to the farmers under the bank linking system in lieu of paddy procurement.
Along with paddy procurement, paddy is being lifted at a fast pace for custom milling. So far, DO and TO have been issued for lifting of 110 lakh metric tonnes of paddy. Against which more than 87 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been lifted. Paddy procurement will continue till 31 January 2025. Token facility for paddy sale in Kharif marketing year 2024-25 has been made available to all the registered farmers of the state through online app (Token Tunhar Hath) and procurement centers till 25 January 2025. Farmers can sell paddy as per rules by selecting the date as per convenience. It is worth noting that 27.78 lakh farmers have been registered by the state government for this Kharif year. This includes 1.59 lakh new farmers. This year 160 lakh metric tonnes of paddy is estimated to be purchased through 2739 procurement centers. On January 24, the state government purchased 1.41 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from 30 thousand 762 farmers under the support price. For this, 58 thousand 997 tokens were issued.
