Kanger Dhara Falls
It is located inside the Kanger Valley National Park, 36 km from Jagdalpur. At the beginning of the downstream of Kanger River, it is a magnificent view of the small cascades of waterfall which forms Kanger Dhara Falls, when the river falls from undulating folded rocks. It is situated at 18°52’26″N 81°55’22″E.
At Kanger Dhara, the momentum of the water is far stronger. Hence the visitors don’t prefer it for bathing and swimming. The visitors can still enjoy the drama of the course of the water as it gushes down the rocks and wends its way around the rocks in a rush. The good time to visit the park is in the month of July. As it is located in the lap of Kanger Valley, the waterfall is produced by the Kanger River due to the presence of undulating rocks present there. Earlier the area of the Kanger Dhara waterfalls was a sedimentary terrain, then it was later intruded by the igneous rock bodies, modified them into folded structures. The people who all are interested in visiting Kanger Dhara, should get permission from the District Forest Office located at the entry to the park.
