Grand Celebration Of The Rich Folk Culture Of Bastar: “Bastar Pandum 2025” Will Start From March 12

Raipur, 11 March 2025: With the aim of keeping the unique tribal culture and traditions of Chhattisgarh alive, the grand event of “Bastar Pandum 2025” is starting from 12 March. In accordance with the wishes of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, through this event, an effort is being made to preserve the rich folk art, customs, traditional lifestyle and cultural heritage of Bastar division and to pass it on to the new generation. This festival will not only provide a platform to the talented artists of Bastar, but will also give new identity and encouragement to their art. The event will focus on 7 major genres. In “Bastar Pandum 2025”, competitions related to tribal dance, song, drama, musical instruments, traditional costumes and jewelry, craft-painting and tribal cuisine and traditional drinks will be organized. These competitions will be held in three phases. District level competition will be held from 12 to 20 March, district level competition from 21 to 23 March, division level competition will be held in Dantewada from 1 to 3 April. A special committee has been formed to select the winners of the competition, which will include administrative officials as well as senior chiefs, priests and experienced artists of the tribal society.
