Mill premises sealed for violation of Chhattisgarh Custom Milling Rice Procurement Order
Raipur 15 December: Food department team today conducted surprise inspection of rice mills located in Raipur, Dhamtari, Mahasamund and Rajnandgaon districts. In which legal action was taken on the premises of RT Rice Mill (Prof. Pramod Jain). RT Rice Mill has not executed the permission and contract even after registering for custom milling in Kharif marketing year 2024-25. Government paddy is not being lifted. 390 quintals of usna rice and 1200 quintals of paddy were found in the mill premises for free sale purpose, which is prima facie a violation of Chhattisgarh Custom Milling Rice Procurement Order, 2016.
The mill premises have been sealed and paddy and rice have been confiscated. The investigation team included Tehsildar Shri Babulal Kurre, Naib Tehsildar Shri Rajendra Chandrakar, Assistant Food Officer Smt. Bindu Pradhan. Apart from this, Shrivastava Rice Mill, Narayan Rice Mill, Maa Laxmi Rice Mill in Mahasamund district, Akanksha Rice Mill in Dhamtari district, Atul Rice Mill in Rajnandgaon district have been raided by the investigation team and investigation is being carried out as per rules.
