CTCD Of Kalinga University Organised Seminar On “Grow As A Leader: A Program For First-time Managers”

Naya Raipur. The Corporate Training and Consultancy Division (CTCD) of Kalinga University, Naya Raipur successfully organised a day-long seminar titled “Grow as a Leader: A Program for First-time Managers” on 17th August 2024. The event was held at the state-of-the-art auditorium of the University and was attended by an enthusiastic audience comprising of students, faculty members and professionals from the industries.

The seminar was led by Mr. Amar Pathak, eminent resource person from Viraj Profiles (P) Ltd., Mumbai. Known for his vast experience and expertise in leadership development, Mr. Pathak provided the participants with valuable insights on the challenges and opportunities faced by first-time managers. His dynamic and interactive approach helped the attendees understand the key concepts of leadership, effective communication and team management.
The day-long seminar comprised multiple sessions that focused on leadership capacity building, strategic thinking and fostering a positive workplace culture. The participants had the opportunity to engage in discussions, case studies and role-playing exercises, providing practical tools and strategies to become an effective leader.

Mr. Pankaj Tiwari, Director, Career and Corporate Resource Centre (CCRC) delivered the inaugural address. Dr. Sandeep Gandhi, Registrar, Kalinga University delivered the welcome address and expressed his appreciation for the program, saying, “We are committed to providing opportunities to our students and professionals to enhance their skills and grow as leaders. This seminar is a testimony to our dedication to fostering leadership qualities in the next generation of managers.”

Mr. Pathak presented on fundamentals of leadership, management, efficiency, balance in management and leadership, developing leadership skills as a manager, why self-awareness and emotional intelligence are important for effective leadership, influence identification, value alignment, exploring emotional intelligence, advanced management, wider impact, strategies to promote self-awareness, enhancing emotional intelligence, benefits of effective communication, blind man’s exercise, effective listening skills, etc. All the participants enjoyed the programs. At the end of the ceremony a memento was presented to the resource person, certificates were given to the participants. Master of the Ceremony was Ms. Shreya Sharma and Ms. Sunaina presented the vote of thanks.
