Raipur, 20 February 2025 – Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has congratulated and wished the people of the state on the occasion of International Mother Language Day (21 February). Chief Minister Sai said that the identity of Chhattisgarh lies in its rich linguistic heritage and multilingual culture. Many folk languages ​​​​including Chhattisgarhi, Gondi, Halbi, Sargujia, Kurukh, Bhatri preserve the cultural soul of this place. International Mother Language Day makes us aware of the preservation, promotion and development of our mother tongues. Chief Minister Sai said that mother tongue is not only a medium of communication, but also a bridge to connect with the roots of our society. In Chhattisgarh, the rich tradition of folk songs, folk tales and traditional knowledge is preserved in our mother tongues, which it is our responsibility to pass on to the new generation. Chief Minister Sai appealed to the people of the state to promote their mother tongues, connect children with their dialect and language and contribute to preserving the linguistic diversity of Chhattisgarh.
