Central Government Appreciated Chhattisgarh’s Land Record Digitization Efforts

03 January 2025: The Central Government has appreciated the efforts made by the Chhattisgarh government for digitization and modernization of land records in rural and urban areas. In view of the initiative of the Chhattisgarh government and its far-reaching positive effects, the Central Government has provided an incentive of Rs 225 crore to the state. The Chhattisgarh government has been given Rs 150 crore to make the land registry process online and link it with land records and Rs 75 crore to digitize the inheritance registry and provide search facility to the general public.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has said that the appreciation of the digitization work of land records in the state by the Central Government and the incentive amount given for this is encouraging for us. This amount will further accelerate our digitization efforts, so that citizens can easily get the benefits of government schemes and services.

Under the digitization of land records in rural areas, work is being done to issue Bhu-Aadhar (Unique Land Parcel Identification Number), survey and digitization of cadastral maps and preparation of farmer registry. This will enable farmers to easily avail banking services, loans and government schemes. Land records are being digitized through GIS mapping to promote ease of living in urban areas. This process will ensure transparency and efficiency in urban planning as well as help in preparing master plans.

Chief Minister Sai said that the land record digitization project will empower the rural and urban citizens of Chhattisgarh as well as provide a new direction to the development work in the state. This appreciation received from the Central Government is a big achievement for the state and this incentive amount will be used to make the lives of citizens simple and convenient.
