Raipur, January 19, 2025: Many important decisions were taken in the Cabinet meeting held here today at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai – A major decision was taken today in the interest of farmers in the Cabinet meeting. Under this decision, in accordance with the guarantee of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this year also, about 27 lakh farmers of the state who sell paddy on the support price will be paid at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal as per the rate announced by the Chhattisgarh government. This year paddy is being purchased from the farmers at the support price of Rs 2300 per quintal fixed by the Central Government, which is being paid to the farmers and the Chhattisgarh government will provide the difference amount of Rs 800 per quintal to the farmers as input assistance in lump sum in February 2025. The Cabinet has decided to resolve the auction of surplus paddy from the paddy procured in Kharif marketing year 2024-25 through online platform. In Chhattisgarh state, in order to keep the HV-4 category electricity consumers – mini steel plants, steel industries which do not have captive power plants or have less than one megawatt and their load is more than 2.5 MVA competitive and to provide them relief due to industrial and economic recession, the cabinet took an important decision and decided to give a maximum discount of one rupee per unit in energy charges from 01 October 2024 to 31 March 2025 under the special relief package.
In compliance with the announcement made in the assembly session, the cabinet has decided to increase the amount of financial assistance given to the artists of the state. In order to provide financial assistance to penniless writers and artists and their dependents, it has been decided to amend the Chhattisgarh Artist Fund Rules 1982 operated by the Culture Department and provide assistance of maximum Rs 50 thousand instead of Rs 25 thousand to the artists of the state and financial assistance of Rs 01 lakh in case of death. In order to provide appropriate skills and necessary knowledge in the field of financial markets, investment instruments and financial planning to the youth of Chhattisgarh state, the Chhattisgarh Government has decided to enter into an MoU with the National Stock Exchange under the Student Skilling Program (SSP). This training will be conducted for high school, higher secondary school and college students. It was decided to create a new post of Additional Commissioner of Excise (Pay Matrix Level-15) in the Commercial Tax (Excise) Department. It was decided to allot additional 05 acres of land free of cost to Satya Sai Health and Education Trust for the purpose of health services in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. Under the Chhattisgarh Special Area (Disposal of Immovable Property) Rules, 2008, it was decided to allot 40 acres of land at concessional rate for the establishment of The Art of Living Center in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. It was decided to amend the Naya Raipur Atal Nagar Vikas Pradhikaran’s Naya Raipur Land Purchase Policy, 2017 with mutual consent.
It was decided to sell residential and commercial properties constructed by Chhattisgarh Housing Board, which have not been sold for more than 5 years, by giving 10 percent, 20 percent and 30 percent discount from the cost price (base rate) for one-time settlement. The total grant amount for benefiting one lakh 32 thousand beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0 is Rs 3938.80 crore, in which mandatory state share of Rs 1450 crore and additional state share of Rs 538 crore, which will be given on completion of the house or Griha Pravesh, was approved. Keeping in mind the interest of women self-help groups, the cabinet has decided to hand over the work of ready-to-eat construction to women self-help groups. In the first phase, the work of manufacturing ready-to-bake bricks will be given to women self-help groups in 5 districts. It was decided to extend the time period of the ordinance issued regarding amendment in various sections under the Chhattisgarh Panchayat Raj Act, 1993 to amend the provisions relating to representation and reservation of other backward classes in the three-tier Panchayati Raj institutions.
