Bilaspur: In a heartbreaking incident in the Pachpedhi police station area of Bilaspur district, Chhattisgarh, an 11-year-old fifth grader named Kabir Kevat took his own life by hanging himself at home. His parents were working in the fields harvesting rice at the time of the tragedy.
Parents Gone to the Fields, Older Brother at School According to police reports, Santosh Kevat and his wife fed their children breakfast on Wednesday morning and sent them off to school before heading to the fields. Their older son, Chandraprakash, and middle son went to school, while the youngest, Kabir, stayed home.
Brother Finds Him Hanging Around 1:30 PM, when Chandraprakash returned home from school, he found the door locked from the inside. He called out for Kabir but received no response. Looking through the window, he discovered Kabir’s body hanging. He immediately alerted neighbors and family members.
Suspected Suicide Due to Mobile Dispute During the police investigation, it was revealed that there were frequent arguments among the three brothers at home over mobile phone usage. Initial inquiries suggest that a dispute regarding the mobile might have led Kabir to take this drastic step.
Police Have Registered a Case and Investigation is Ongoing The Pachpedhi police arrived at the scene, broke down the door, and removed the body from the noose. They registered a case and have begun investigating the matter. The body has been sent for an autopsy, and all aspects of the incident are being examined.This tragedy serves as a reminder for society to reflect on the importance of communication and care with children, as a lack of attention may push them towards such extreme actions.
