Amrit Bharat Yojana: Redevelopment Work Continues At A Fast Pace At 15 Stations Of Raipur Division

Raipur. Under the Amrit Bharat Station Yojana, the redevelopment work of 15 stations located in Raipur division of South East Central Railway is progressing rapidly under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Shri Sanjeev Kumar. These stations are being made more comfortable, safe and standard for passengers by equipping them with modern facilities. Under this scheme, special efforts are being made by Indian Railways to further improve passenger facilities in the division, which give top priority to the safety, security and convenience of passengers.

Redevelopment work is being done at a rapid pace under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme for 15 stations of the division, which include 1) Bhatapara, (2) Bhilai Power House, (3) Tilda-Nevara, (4) Belha, (5) Bhilai, (6) Balod, (7) Dalli Rajhara, (8) Bhanupratappur, (9) Hathband, (10) Sarona, (11) Maroda, (12) Mandir Hasaud, (13) Urkura, (14) Nipania, (15) Bhilai Nagar.

The highest level of beauty, cleanliness and passenger services of the stations is being ensured. Also, they are being redeveloped with eco-friendly technology and design, which is increasing their sustainability and decoration. Redevelopment work is being done keeping in mind the goal of long-term development, so that the travel experience of passengers can be improved along with the increase in rail services. Keeping in mind the convenience of passengers at these stations, the following works are being done –

1. Grand entrance gate: A grand entrance gate is being built for easy entry and exit of passengers and the station will also look attractive.

2. Wide foot over bridge: This bridge is being developed as an air concourse so that passengers can go to the platforms more easily.

3. Lift: Lift facility is being provided for the convenience of passengers so that all passengers, especially the elderly and the disabled, can get more comfort.

4. Covered sheds on platforms: Covered sheds are being installed on platforms to avoid rain and sun.

5. Coach guidance display system: Coach guidance display system is being installed to give accurate information to passengers about the status of their train and coach.

6. Display boards and guidance signage: Like malls, modern signage boards are also being installed at stations for directions and information so that passengers can easily get information about the facilities available at the station.

7. Special facilities for Divyangjans: Special facilities are also being provided for Divyangjans (Divyang passengers) at stations. These facilities include ramps, marked parking and low height ticket booking counters, so that Divyang passengers can get better assistance. Also, separate toilets, low height drinking water booths and wheelchairs are being arranged for Divyangjans on platforms. Apart from this, facilities like coach guidance system, signage, and standard textile guides are being provided on platforms, which will make it easier for Divyangjans to reach trains and get necessary information.

8. Apart from this, various works are being done in stations like painting of local art and culture, beautification by building gardens, development and expansion of other passenger facilities, renovation of waiting rooms, improving the circulating area and widening the roads to make smooth paths, developing well-organized parking areas, ensuring better lighting, designer signages, making smooth paths to reach the station.

9. Railways’ commitment towards passenger safety and convenience: Indian Railways always gives top priority to the safety and convenience of its passengers. Under these redevelopment projects, stations are not only being strengthened physically, but state-of-the-art security measures like CCTV cameras and quick availability of emergency services are also being ensured. Successful implementation of these schemes will significantly contribute to making the journey of passengers more safe, comfortable and convenient.
