Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai honored women journalists, emphasized on women empowerment
Raipur, March 9, 2025: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a grand and dignified event ‘Mahatari Vandan Abhinandan’ program was organized at the Chief Minister’s residence, Raipur. On this occasion, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai honored women journalists who made significant contributions in the field of journalism and reiterated the government’s commitment towards women empowerment. Chief Minister Sai said in his address that women are the strong base of the society, and the Chhattisgarh government is making continuous efforts to make women self-reliant and capable. He said that women are touching new heights in every field, and the government is ensuring that they get equal rights and security on every occasion. He said that the Chhattisgarh government is dedicated to realizing the concept of ‘Mahatari Vandan’. In the present era, women are playing an important role not only in the progress of family and society, but also in the progress of the country economically, socially and politically. Chief Minister Sai especially appreciated the role of women in journalism. He said that women journalists have made a significant contribution in spreading awareness in the society and becoming the voice of the people. He said that the hard work, fearlessness and impartiality of women journalists is helping in bringing positive change in the society. Women journalists have not only protected the rights of the public through their bold journalism, but have also prominently raised those issues which usually remain unheard. While felicitating women journalists, he described their contribution as inspirational and motivated them to raise their voice for truth and justice in future as well. Government’s special focus on women’s safety and facilities During the program, Chief Minister Sai said that women’s safety is one of the top priorities of the government. He said that keeping in view the safety and convenience of women, special women police stations, helpline services and hostels for working women are being arranged in the state. He said that the government has made special provision for women police stations and facilities for working women in the budget. Apart from this, he gave detailed information on various aspects of the ‘Mahatari Vandan’ scheme to empower women economically. In the program, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai honored more than 60 women journalists including Ms. Rashmi Drolia, Mrs. Jyoti Singh, Mrs. Madhumita Pal, Mrs. Sarita Dubey, Ms. Nisha Dwivedi, Ms. Nidhi Prasad, Shagufta Shirin, Ms. Chitra Patel, Ms. Karishma Soni, Aftab Begum, Ms. Khushboo Thackeray, Mrs. Tanu Verma, Mrs. Akanksha Tiwari, Akanksha Dubey, Ms. Rasika Pandey. Chief Minister Sai said that active participation of women journalists and unbiased journalism is helpful in strengthening democracy. During the program, Chief Minister Sai gave detailed information about various schemes of Chhattisgarh Government to women journalists. He told that the schemes run for women are bringing revolutionary changes in the direction of their economic and social empowerment. He said that our government wants women not only to be self-reliant but also to strengthen their identity in the society. He also told that the state government is working on further expanding schemes like skill development, self-employment and financial assistance for women. On this occasion, booklets, brochures and books related to the government schemes were provided so that they can strengthen their economic condition by taking advantage of these. Souvenirs and gifts given as a mark of respect During the programme, shawls, mementos and attractive bags were presented to the women journalists and eminent women as a mark of respect. Chief Minister Sai said that this honour is not only an appreciation of their work but is also an inspiration to take their contribution forward. He said that our government wants the women to be self-reliant and they should be fully aware of their rights and duties.
Chief Minister Sai said that in the coming time, the government will implement new schemes, in which special attention will be given to making women more financially independent and self-reliant. He said that the objective of the government is that every woman gets education, employment and social security, so that they can become self-reliant and make their strong presence felt in the society. Chief Minister Sai called upon women to be aware of their rights and take maximum advantage of the schemes run by the government. Chief Minister Sai interacted with women journalists and dignitaries present and listened carefully to their views and suggestions. He assured that the government will make every effort to further strengthen the participation of women and their voice. Chief Minister Sai said that the Chhattisgarh government is fully committed to the respect, security and self-reliance of women. In the program, women journalists expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Sai and reiterated their commitment to bring positive change in the society. A large number of women journalists and dignitaries were present on this occasion.
