71 percent voting in Chhattisgarh in the third phase, highest in Surguja

 

In the third phase of elections in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday, voters voted with enthusiasm on seven seats amid pleasant weather. According to the data received till 12 midnight, a total of 71.06 percent voting was recorded on all seven seats.

The highest turnout was in Surguja at 78.78 percent, while the lowest was in Bilaspur at 63.95 percent. The final figures will be released on May 8. In the third phase, voting was held in Raipur, Surguja, Durg, Raigarh, Bilaspur, Janjgir Champa and Korba seats. Voting was held on four seats in the first two phases. That means now voting has been completed on all 11 seats of Chhattisgarh.

Election fate of 168 candidates captured in EVM

There were 1.39 crore eligible voters to vote in 58 constituencies of seven Lok Sabha seats. With the final phase of voting, the electoral fate of 168 candidates has been decided in the EVMs. 15,701 polling stations were set up for the third phase of voting, out of which web casting was arranged in 7,887 centres.
